West Central Ohio Crime Task Force (WCOCTF)



The West Central Ohio Crime Task Force is a multijurisdictional multiagency law enforcement task force that serves the citizens of Allen and Van Wert Counties. Seated in the City of Lima, the WCOCTF serves a population of 105,000 people with US 30 and I-75 connecting in the jurisdiction. WCOCTF has a primary mission statement to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking organizations in our community as well as improve the quality of life to our citizens. WCOCTF has a strategic method through various means and investigative techniques, as well as various resources in the local, state, and federal levels.

Mission Statement of the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force:
It is the mission statement of the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force to provide a professional and specialized investigative service to law enforcement agencies within Allen and Van Wert counties, where illicit narcotic investigations and violent criminal offenses are the primary focus. With a proactive approach to disrupt and dismantle these drug enterprises, bring violent offenders to justice, and in turn, keeping the communities served safer.

Josh Bayer, Commander
Sergeant Josh Bayer is the Commander of the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force (WCOCTF). Sgt. Bayer has been in law enforcement since 2011. He spent the beginning of his career as a uniformed deputy working all shift assignments. He joined the Allen County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team in 2016 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2018. In 2020 he was re-assigned to the Task Force. Additionally, Sgt. Bayer is a regional representative with the Ohio Tactical Officer’s Association (OTOA) and an involved member of OTFCA where he is currently assisting in the development of New Commander’s Training Certification.
